Area 2: Sendai City Center (UH Katahira)

Can reach campus in 4 minutes using the Tozai Subway Line from

Aoba-dori Ichibancho Station.

Near Katahira Campus.

・

Rent is more expensive than in other parts of the city.

・

Many retail shops and restaurants.

Area 1: Near Kawauchi Campus

・

Convenient to Kawauchi Campus. Possible to commute on foot.

・

Generally gentle terrain, but there are steep hills in some places.

・

There are not many supermarkets etc. in this area.

Area 3: Hachiman/Sanjo/Kunimi

(UH Sanjo/Jyoshun Dormitory)

・

There are buses to Kawauchi Campus.

・

The Hachiman area is relatively flat. On the other hand, Kunimi is very hilly.

・

There are many supermarkets and other shops along the major road (Route 48).

Area 4: Kamisugi/Kashiwagi/Kimachidori

(Meizen/Matsukaze Dormitories)

Sendai Station can be reached by the Namboku Subway Line and many

buses. From there, Kawauchi Station can be reached in 6 minutes by

transferring to the Tozai Subway Line.

There are many supermarkets and other shops in this area

Area 5: Yagiyama/Mukaiyama

(Ibun/Seifu/Nisshu Dormitories)

Near Aobayama Campus. -Can reach Kawauchi Station in 6 minutes using the

Tozai Subway Line from Yagiyama Zoological Park Station.

Rent is less expensive than in other parts of the city.

・

Many steep hills. Beware of snowy/icy road conditions in winter.

Transferring to the Tozai Subway Line at Sendai Station

Transferring from the Namboku Subway Line

You can transfer from the Namboku Line platform to the Tozai Line platform in about 3-4 minutes without exiting through the ticket gate.

Transferring from JR

There is a passage that connects directly to the Namboku Line platform from JR Aoba-dōri Station (Senseki Line). For other rail lines, take the underground passage to the subway entrance from JR Sendai Station. It takes 6-7 minutes to get to the platform.

Transferring from Bus Lines

The West Bus Terminal, where most buses arrive/depart, is near the underground passage to the subway entrance. Transferring from bus takes 3-4 minutes
